While application to most local university courses are now based purely on GPA and are quite straightforward, you may also find yourself considering some local and overseas courses which could be more selective in their process.
From writing personal statements to getting teacher recommendations, these local and overseas university applications can sometimes get pretty overwhelming.
That’s why as seniors who have gone through the process before, we decided to pool together our experiences and reflections so you can take the first step towards the university of your dreams easily.
We understand that our current series of application guides are still quite limited 🙁
However, some students have also developed their own initiatives to help other prospective university students. Here are two that you should definitely have a look at!
1. Upathsg — A really great initiative that our friends created. It is a platform where university students provide insightful details about their courses. They cover a really wide range of LOCAL university courses.
2. Wah-university — A non-profit passion project by 6 Singaporean undergraduates that provides (really good) university application resources and mentor-mentee services. One of their founders is from SP too!
3. You may also want to reach out to our partner, Jisoo Hope Yoon, if you are really considering an education in the US. She is an English major at Stanford University, and has been offering individualised college application support for more than a year. She is a writing tutor and a mentor at College Key Foundation. You can contact her at hopeyoon@stanford.edu for more information.
